The Most Beautiful Thing Today   Pitched somewhere between the banal and the sublime, Aleksandra Mir's year-long project for White Columns consisted of written descriptions of scenarios that Mir considered to have been “the most beautiful thing” she happened to see on a particular day. Following no discernable schedule or chronological logic Mir occasionally replaced an existing description with one that described a more recent “beautiful thing.” The final installment of Mir’s project will take the form of an unfolding retrospective of all of ‘The Most Beautiful Things’. Each ‘Beautiful Thing’ will be on display for one week between December 15, 2005 and January 28, 2006. The ‘Beautiful Things’ were:
