Homeboys

Homeboys, two snowmen with hats, fake jewelry, carrot noses, shades
and walkman. East River park, NYC, January 1st, 2001

Heavy snow fell on the first day of the new millennium, covering New York in a fresh coat of innocence. I made two snowmen inspired by the boys in my neighborhood on the Lower East Side. They were placed in front of the projects and behind a fence to look like they were a prison. The next day, the snowmen were robbed of all their props, their heads kicked off and someone had pissed in the melting snow.
