Big controversy or something. DAY FIVE How about a "think tank"? Fleshy-gray colored with squiggly lines? What the hell's that mean, though?Is your tank a peace gesture? Where are the menfolk in those photos, huh? DAY SIX Can you describe the idea behind the pink tank?The pink tank is an outdoors summer art project. 5 girls are painting a derelict and long parked tank in the city, pink. We met the owner who gave us permission and gave us pink War Paint to do it and we did it over one weekend. We had fun doing it in the sun. It is a public artwork, as such it is an artwork about the public. Many people came up to speak to us about it. Everyone has a different idea what it is about. It can be anything you want. Could you also let me know the full address of the location of the tank and dates and times when the public can see it? Cubitt is launching the tank: 4 - 7pm, August 24th 2002. It is parked at the corner of Pages Walk & Mandela Way, 5 minutes south of Tower Bridge. We'll meet at the Victoria Pub on the corner. Here's the pink tank CHECK OUT THAT PINK TANK. I'M NOT SURE THESE EUROPEANS ARE TAKING THE WAR ON TERROR ENTIRELY SERIOUSLY. Something a bit different to most tourist towns, you know. Reminds me of something I'd expect to see in an issue of Giant Robot. Art for Atr's sake and all that nonsense (and most of the time contemporary art is nonsense) but I found this an absolute hoot—especially the comments from passers by If you can't see it, you can't touch it! Ooer, love it, it looks so sleek now, compared to those boring ,cold, grey tones most tanks trundle along with. There is a guy just up the road from here, owns about 10 acres, and keeps his own private tank museum. Probably worth about 6 million but he is getting old now and wants to sell it. Maybe England as a market? He has some really good ones. Maybe you could make a thing of it#151;a blue one, a green one and so on. I THOUGHT THAT TANK IT LOOKED CANNY HORRIBLE.
